Bargains due to bad weather
Hi All, This weather, although great for the plants, is such a pain for us gardeners, right?  Until, you go to you local garden centre.  I went to mine today, and the amount of good, healthy, in season plants on special offer was huge. I'm talking by Yvieh

Runner roots from a Poplar tree
SBK Brushwood and Tree Stump Killer, which you will find in your garden centre or local large DIY store. Follow the instructions on the box. Thanks a stack.  I'll try the SBK first. SBK is very good but it does take time to kill the stump,best to drill by dereck

How do I treat a wound in the trunk of my acacia tree
In our garden stands a very beautiful old acacia tree of about 8 metres tall. There is a wound on the trunk (maybe 10 centimetres across and 18 cm high) which has at some time been filled with concrete (no it wasn't us). The tree has been fine by Arlette Proctor

Sharpening tools
're single use, and not that expensive. Have a look in a large DIY store or garden centre for them. secateurs and shears are relatively easy, take of any rust residue (bit of wire wool will do it) then you can either use a sharpening stone or a sharpening by Cetti

flowers
im new to gardening, what flowers can i plant in july as ive just dug up the border in my front garden and would like to plant some flowers there. I love to hunt for bargains in the big DIY stores, you get some brilliant plants for next to nothing and they usually just need a bit of TLC to bring them back to life Yes there are some very, very good bargains to be had on the past-their best by Natalie
