Making a cold frame and where to buy a manger.

Bare root roses arriving tomorrow - help!
and eventually popped them in just before the snow. The other advantage with this is you can properly plant in your own time and not in a rush. That idea of a garden seat with them behind sounds/smells lovely. I'm not too hot on the DIY either so always look by happycottontail

Filling a new raised bed.
.  I have have been advised to fill it with (bagged) top soil and (bagged) organic farmyard manure at an approx 50/50 mix.  Both from Westland I believe. Bearing in mind that this is the first time we have used a raised bed, have only one or two garden by Dave Tremlin

just when u thought it safe im back
quickly, as the back garden is not very big at all.  So I might end up sharing an allotment with them, which would be nice, as I can't manage one on my own, and OH is more than useless at Gardening - cars, DIY, electrics, anything like that he's brilliant by Alan4711

Bit the bullet! Here comes spring...
's because I took a week off work to ride, garden and do house hold jobs and DIY. Well 2 of the 3 have been done!!!Back to work on tues and then the garden becomes my escape and switch off time! Horrid thing is the oil ran out last night so we are blooming by * Red Dahlia *

Bamboo
?   Please help Some bamboo are very invasive and can get to amazing heights. Have you thought of bamboo hedging you'll buy a roll of this from the local diy store or garden centre and then its instant privacy and alot cheaper! Nope, sorry, the safe clump by thisisnewtome

Killing Ivy in a Hedge
with the hedge, this may be impossible. One method of killing the plant would be to carefully paint some of the leaves with Roundup Gel. You don't need to paint the entire plant. Roundup Gel is available at most garden centres and DIY stores. Roundup takes a by NewBoy2
