mystery chrysalis
Hi all Can anyone help me out with identifying something that may or maynot be a pest? I found two of my very young red hot poker's leaves stuck together to make a cosy nest for a chrysalis. It has a yellow/brown body with a very smart, emerald by Pamela14

and you ned to find these bird dropping like masses and wipe them off to kill the grub inside. And for anyone unfamiliar with this pest here is an image. Berg- I like the word 'frass'- that's a new one on me! Glad it wasn't a pic of the two 'in flagrante by pat22

ID of plant growing EVERYWHERE!

Ruined lawn with too much grass seed?
 in areas. The garden is very sheltered and we've had plenty of rain so I don't think it's due to being too dry. I've read that if you put down too much seed the roots become too competitive and bits die off. Frustratingly, I can't find any information by Alice Konash

the harlequin bug and glad to find its not one of them. Don't know if it fly's, doesn't appear to be harmful, no sting, from a distance looks like goblets of water/oil on branch. quite pretty but am afaid if its pretty it could be a pest? would like to think its by Excited finder

ground for runner beans
Can someone please tell me how many years you can safely grow runners beans in the same piece of ground. Safely as in pest and disease build up? I can only relate my experience-I have grown beans on the same bit of ground for probably the last 15 by Lyn

japanese knot weed

want to control what they grow in their gardens and that invaders from the outside are not always welcome. My attitude to 'weeds' must be the same as my attitude to 'pests'. As far as I'm concerned nothing is a pest unless it reaches pest proportions by anon
