Talkback: Sowing seed indoors

colour, the scent is gorgeous without being overpowering, it repeats, the insects love it and, if it gets greenfly, the little birds (sparrows particularly) are very quick to clean it up for me. What more could I want? Well, a bit more black spot by sandra

won't use this type of killer. The RHS suggests trying to prevent the insects laying eggs with the use of Deltamethrin (Bayer Sprayday Greenfly Killer) or lambda cyhalothrin (Westland Plant Rescue Fruit & Vegetable Bug Killer), which do not have by issybee

No Ladybirds
I've been hand weeding all day and I haven't seen one single ladybird - nor any larvae.  What's happened to them all?  I was amazed at the amount of ants there are out there.  Also the greenfly and blackfly population has expanded on last year by Robot

to stop squirrells eating the new buds on my lovely climbing rose,and is there anything i can put on the rose to stop greenfly...i cant use a spray as i cant reach the buds[about 10ft high],is there anything i can put round soil so roots will take it in by DogWhisperer

Slugs may destroy my life
'm just the opposite to some in that I don't kill anything in the garden, knowingly... greenfly, slugs the lot... however living next to barren land it's quite easy for me to throw slugs and snails over the fence as no one lives over there and they must by Rampant climber

nearest the wasps nest are completely free of greenfly and are thriving, while the others (while are thriving too) are doing slightly less well and have small pockets of greenfly.We have barbecues and they are no bother to us at all. I'll take the advice by mmfp

of irises anybody had a similar experience and any advice out there? I have noticed that my lovely plum tree has a greenfly infestation. I want to treat it but need to use something that will not effect the eating quality of this years crop. Any suggestions by margaretm
