Talkback: Grey mould on soft fruits
time i have treated my gooseberry bushes for fungus as recommended by the instructions on the bottle my question now is "are the fruit now edible when they finally mature " or do i need to destroy the affected fruit? by mynewgreenhouse

bin? Lainey - not really, it will slow down the compost production.I compost it separately - keep it wet for a year, to let the wood shavings rot down a little. I then use it as a mulch round my apple trees and soft fruit. Keeps the weeds at bay by frances

Talkback: Growing tomatoes and tomato blight
seven toms of the Sweet Millions and none off the Moneymaker. I've had problems with grey mould more than blight. The only time I suffered with blight was with last years potatoes.I've got about another 50 toms on that haven't ripened but it's been a bit by Chilipops

July in the garden!!
for veggies. I'm happy here.   Cheesecake with strawbs from the garden. I had to buy the kwi fruit!   Yummy looking cheesecake. A sunny day in Rossendale, strangely after yesterday's downpour. we have no water coming from the taps! The garden is alive  with by gardeningfantic
