to conifer look a bit prettier I suppose! I suppose it is far too rampant for my small ish garden but I was wondering if I cut it right back to around 2ft above ground level and tied it to it's support as it grew again I could at least try to tame it a little by tattianna

slug slime
There is a waste ground behind my back fence. An eco-friendly way of getting rid of slugs from my garden is to collect them by hand and lob them over the fence (though I'm sure they make their way back). However, I am left with a lot of slime by schubbs

Fig trees
rootstock in the hardest winters but last year, despite -25C nights it produced about a dozen fruit.  It's parent, planted in the ground in a more sheltered garden than mine a few miles away produces dozens every year. Just make sure you buy a hardy one like by Chris9

Raised, bordered vegatable beds (Something to think about)
ground, but not above. The bed system was constructed by first cutting the material to the chosen length and width, followed by screwing it together to form a bed shape. The bed was then aligned in position using a string line that had been off set by Eddie J

only needs to be planted just below the soils surface, it will spread across the ground rapidly, with time, good luck.  This is a beautiful "cottage garden" type plant xx Steel bars intended for concrete come in different diameters& can be bent by hand by suze2902

those places Paul. I've done a lot of sailing, and Dartmouth was my home port. Also have Kent links, my sister lives near Canterbury ( and is a fab gardener), Bloke's from Kent and at one time lived in Sissinghurst...his garden backed on to the grounds by Daniel Haynes

as far as I can tell is of the usual type I.e. not variegated Dear Adam, how can I stop ground elder creeping across from next doors garden, at the moment I have it covered with cardboard to exclude the light but it's not a long term solution. Kay from by sarahbroome

or two marginal plants for cover. the frogs spawned in mid march & thats when the newts seemed to return. (we live in lincolnshire ) the pond is raised & has ferns & ground cover plants around it, we often see the frogs on the pond edge ready to go by Daily Digger

Keeping Cats off My Veg Patch
smile! I have 2 cats, and I cover my vegetables with old fireguards etc, I leave an area for my cats toilet, and I turn the ground over regularly, also, my cats are kept indoors at night, and use 2 litter trays before they go out in the morning by donutsmrs
