Well, I have a tray full of autumn sown broad beans bursting out of their pots, the plants are about 4 ins high. Do I need to repot or put them in the (very soggy, heavy) ground ? They do need to go outside-can you cover the ground with something by blueberry77

Help! How can you get rid of grass in the border?
or shine ). Any advice is a tremendous help. Thank you FG In that case I think that your only real option is to pay someone to dig it out. Once that's done you could try covering the ground with a weed-proof membrane and covering that in turn with bark by Forestgump

Growing potatoes in pots
compost bag...free. And roll the bag down, to about a foot high off ground and punch some holes into it. Fill it with compost, put 3 potatoes in and cover with few good handfuls of compost - roll up bag slightly if need be.  It's a bit too early just yet by 222222222

Hi, I have lifted a number of slabs in the garden to create more space for plants but beneath the old slabs the earth is covered in concrete / cement powder (looks like grey sand).  I don't think I want to grow any veg in this but I am unsure of how by novicegardenerB
