Talkback: Growing alliums: best varieties

what to plant
I have a clump of alliums which are starting to go over, i usually leave the heads on but as the foliage dies back they look tatty. I would like to plant something at their base for them to grow through that will look attractive from now. Any ideas by Aliesh

Allium Bulbs
Not sure where my orginal post went! Just after a bit of advice on planting my allium bulbs. I was given some for Christmas, didn't get a chance to plant them, and am wondering whether I could get them in the ground now? Or would I be better by Louise Matthews

Allium bulbs
for mould growing on them, sprinkle a bit of Sulphur on them . The shops seem to store them in wood shavings, but a paper bag somewhere dry and cool should be good. yet i have had a better year with all my alliums, big globes purple and the smaller ones cant by Berkley
