Blackberries
One side of my garden is quite shady at low level and is the one side I still need to plant up! I planted an apple tree last year and it seems to be doing ok but i just bought a blackberry plant that I was going to try and grow under the apple tree by julieasayers

apple, cherry and plum trees
hi all, iv been growing some veg for 3 years but thought id try tree fruit, when they fruit can you eat the first batch thanks You are supposed to remove blossom for first year to give roots time to strengthen and develop. I did this. Last year by sandra gray

Frost & apple trees
time. Apple trees are pretty hardy. The flowers will drop off if not pollinated anyway. Is there another apple tree near you that pollinates your Braeburn? You can't grow fruit on a lone apple tree, it needs another of the right pollinating group. You by yvonne parsons2

Blossom trees
I have a border 11m x 3m. I would like to plant a row of 3 blossom trees. Low growing - 3m max with 2 - 3m spread. Magnolia or Crab Apple possibly or any other suggestions ? I would like prolific flowering trees with a nice leaf. Can I plant in May by Stephen Lawrence

young apple tree
hello---may i please ask for some advice--3 years ago my daughter planted an apple seed---it has grown in to 2 long twigs that have sprung up and it gets the occasional leaf in summer---how can i spur it on---should i use a certain potting / growing by 80smaniac

ones. As long as you pick the right type and rootstock for a restricted form of tree then you'll be fine. For apples I'd go for a M26 rootstock, or if your soil is poor or the variety you're growing is a less vigorous grower then MM106 rootstock would by hawk and rose

New apple tree
I boought a new apple tree in Lidl last month new leaves are growing from it allready is this normal, the air temp during the day  has been 2 -7 deg and at night 3 to -2deg c. at night my allotment is in Drogheda ,Co Louth, Ireland.   Thanks Derek by Derek Mulready

rambling rose
it's first growing season. Is it in a fairly sunny spot? I have a huge one that scrambles through apple trees and it thrives with very little input from me so be patient and it should reward. thanks for relply joanna.yes it is in good sunny spot by tc2

. Here in the Scottish Borders we're in the middle of a wintry period of snow and ice and the birds are finding it tough to get enough to eat. Why not check out your apple store now and put out any damaged/ rotting ones for the birds. They won't mind by Del Richards
