I give up!
have a wee sit-ootery there - which I haven't used once this year, drattit.  I put in loads of daffodil bulbs, deep down so I could grow other things over the top, and strawberries all round the edge; lilies and asparagus against the south-facing wall by francesmhendry

Bare root plants
My efforts to grow bare root plants are a disaster.  I follow the rules of soaking and spreading roots etc; but the autumn raspberries, blue verbascum, and perennial geranium, not a sign of them.  I have planted canna lilies, in pots and started by mrswick

please suggest plants or plant types
its perfect for growing over archways or a pergola and the bonus is that it is perfumed.  I have Rosa 'Morgan Sackler' around my seat area as it is thornless, pink, perfumed. The name is not so hot! Thank you very much donutsmrs and Daintiness by cheesey ed 4

Talkback: Top of the veg
Last summer I tried to grow carrots for the first time. I grew them in a large plant pot on the path, they grew to about finger size and then something upturned the pot and ate them but left their tops. Could it have been a badger as the pot was too by Karl W

Japanese knotweed
for another 2 months? I have never experienced this but am aware of pouring glyphosate into cut stems- at this time of year whilst it is actively growing I would repeatedly spray the leaves every 2/3 weeks with a glyphosate spray- at least that will weaken by catrinhudson
