Talkback: Sowing seeds for home-made ratatouille

Another Vitopod question
useful for stuff which needs a long growing season like peppers, chillies and aubergines. Was going to start sowing aubergines and peppers a week earlier this year.  You might want to keep a dairy to include temperatures of sowings, then you'll know by Iain R

Veg growing inside
What are the best vegetables to grow inside. Have had success with various chilli varieties in the past as well as herbs and will be growing them again this year, but I was wondering what else you all think Is worth a try. We have large south facing by Mattwestyorks

greenhouse this year is crammed with aubergines, tomatoes and chillis, whitefly magnets all, but thre's hardly any flies, certainly not enough to worry about. I think they may work outside too. I've tried growing them among my veg without problems. This year by magz

patio Potato bag
I want to know if anyone ha been successful growing other veg in the green canvas bag that came free with potato two years ago. I would like to try some thing like courgettes but I am not sure they would do well in it. Any thoughts please Hi, last by dressmaker

plants or summer bedding. I'm using home made liquid seaweed to feed stuff in the GH everything seems to be growing well apart from chillies and peppers, they are still way behind and I've only one aubergine plant in flower with a single fruit. I read by mjtclayton

-raised members of the solanum family - especially aubergines, which require a long growing season - should be grown early as otherwise summer is over before they have come into flower. I wouldn't advise growing courgettes or pumpkins now, as they will be growing by Gardening Express

greenhouse troughs

Aubergines being eaten
Can anyone help me find out what is eating my aubergine leaves. There are no holes so assuming it isn't flea beetle. What ever is eating it is eating all round the edges until no more leave is left. It's in a mini greenhouse with PVC cover. I have by lucy33
