Planting for a Philosophy Garden
on quickly at home.  If you have enough money left, rhodos and azaleas should be in bloom then and can be grown in pots for easy moving.   An azeala or two in bloom, in pots, would look nice - but anything except the tiniest would be expensive to buy. If you by Fleur Shorthouse

This is my first year of trying to grow tomatoes - will need to keep this blog and refer back to it. I do love this site, so great to just click the mouse and get so much free info! Did get blight last year and ruined the plum toms and affected by growing tomatoes

Scented flowers
the colour as well.    My fave rave at the moment is Daphne bholua 'Jaqueline Postill', beloved by Roy Davison. It's a slow growing semi-evergreen that will get to 6ft. They are devilishly expensive (£30-60) but will reward you for weeks with their waxy very by David Hurrion

Talkback: Plants for bees
gardeners are opting to grow their own fruit and veg. so their(the bees') services are more in demand! I have bees living in the drill holes that were made for my cavity wall insulation. They chirp like birds. Its amazing to watch them. as bees by happymarion_

and replaced all the fencing, i wanted something that would quickly hide the 'new fence' look. Along one side I have a quick growing honeysuckle that is thriving and along the back i have another honeysuckle and a cematis, blossom tree and a small apple tree by frustrated_gardener

organic and have to a certain extent, got the slugs under control.If anyone has any tips re the blackfly, I would be grateful. I grow lavander as much as possible under vunerable plants. I have an Azalea and its gone a bit 'leggy'. Can I cut it back by happymarion

Talkback: Growing spring bulbs
in a quiet spot and see if they'll grow at all. It all depends how they've been stored, whether the bulbs have dried out, or started to decay. If they appear sound then do give them the benefit of the doubt and plant them. And do post feedback later by Alice

for around 3 years. Any reason why?we live in the north east of england I planted Pentalnd Javelin potatoes in March but how can I tell when they are ready to harvest? I have am growing courgettes in my greenhouse. They look really healthy with lots by Eaten leaves
