basil, chives and parsley
in that pot - chives grow like grass, single strands so don't spread. As they grow on you can simply divide if you feel it is a little crowd. For your basil sow a little less than the chives. Also, basil do not like the cold - grow on in a greenhouse or a sun by David 25

Basil leaf damage
when growing basil, it does have a habit of going black and dying when grown outdoors. I only grow it in the greenhouse or on a hot sunny windowsill now - with better success !! To sum it up - it just doesn't like the cold, nor being rained upon. Thanks by discodave

Windowsill propogation
, chillis, pak choi, peppers, broccoli, lettuce, salad mix, coriander, basil..... My question is whether everything needs to be thinned down to a single seedling? For some, such as the cucumber which grows thick stems this is obvious. For other things by cxgcxg

Basil
Hi I have been trying for years to grow healthy Basil plants, I have tried seeds, plugs and those plants you get from the supermarket. The basil always seems to get so big, then the stems near the soil go black and it gets covered in tiny flies. I by Kes
