Courgette Help
We're growing three courgette plants. So far we've only had one Courgette (plenty of flowers though). The flower at the tip of the courgette has now come off. Is this the right time to harvest a courgette, as it is still quite small? Should I wait by Huntertony

How early can I plant out runner beans?
This isn't me getting too overexcited at the first prospects of spring, more that I may have planted my runner beans a bit too early. They're indoors, in 3" pots, but they're about 20-30cm tall already and the roots are beginning to creep out by Bf206

twine + tits = damage to plants
important than an easy source of nesting material. As the beans grow and twine round their canes, or whatever, they'll become self supporting anyway. Thanks "figrat"! I'll try and find some flexi tie. Unfortunately, the beans are still too short to be self by nadiamaz

A few random questions :)
that we are not growing any this year for a variety of reasons.  Broad beans eaten by slugs - no year is ever as the books and packaging  tell you, but this wet dark weather is really holding everything back.  Keep using the organisc irion bawed slug by Loz

Blue Lake Pencil Beans
A couple of weeks ago I picked up a pack of these beans at a seed swap. They were then planted and put on my radiator in the hope that they would germinate but as yet no luck. They have been in the pots about two weeks now. Is there a trick to them by Swedboy

Talkback: Sweetcorn crash
start than many others? I learned from previous years that when you have had a long wet spell it is very easy to think that they have had enough water and not physically check the soil; I grow on raised beds which do tend to drain faster! best sweetcorn by Wendy Newton
