worms eating my beans??
happened so quickly and also surely the outer shell would remain?? Still convinced its worms?? Mange-tout and broad beans are hardier veg. French beans need warmth and moisture to germinate and grow properly-if they don't get it the beans will just rot way by tina brown

I am new to vegetable growing. I have grown some runner bean plants from seeds from last year. I wanted to know what plants can grow at the base of these? Would I be able to plant some courgettes? thanks in advance Runners get very leafy and need by newgreen

Sowing seeds in toilet rolls
Anyone have a list of plants that can be succesfully sown using toilet rolls/kitchen rolls? A list??-beans,peas --you can sow anything-lots use it for sweet peas-but they do tend to fall apart as they get soggier The idea is to plant the whole thing by Throstle2

Does anybody know how big the runner beans get before you pick them? I have no idea and they are starting to grow already! I dont want to pick them too early and not too late! Hi Thank you for the information on growing beans. I found it very useful by Hannah_Banana_

im a first time gardener n your piece really helped thanx. I grow beans in pots-never fails and Slugs and Snails are very few. I too was wondering if my runner beans were ever going to arrive, in spite of having strong plants which were planted out by Andrea Boyd

French beans
I am growing french beans for the 1st time this year(blue lake) but I am unsure  what size they should be before I pick them, at the moment some are about 5-6 inches and I can feel the beans inside the pod. Hope someone can help.Thanks I have by grannyk

Runner beans plants decimated up to 4 feet
of the runner beans continue to grow and are left untouched. Some people have reported seeing a badger on site but that is a heavy creature that would push over the canes, and there is no damage to the canes. Magpies land on the beans but are only likely to pick by Vernon Herridge

Late Runner Beans
year at growing veg can I take it that they are late producing..is it ok just to leave them until they have finished producing beans. Thanks   of course,you are lucky you are doing so well.They do as time goes on get tougher and these you can use by flowergirl4

Any ideas what to start growing in the greenhouse for a novice cant wait to start !! It depends on what you want to grow-but it is still relatively early Heated or unheated? unheated veg etc Broad beans can be started-for planting out in a few weeks by Andy51
