Should I "top" my sparsely-flowering runner beans?

what to intercrop with squash?
) or something which will grow tall or find it's own way to light - beans being perfect for that! I'd go with radishes. They'll be up, matured and eaten before the squash suffocates them. Three sisters (beans, squash and corn) are the classic, since the beans by General Disarray

p.s i only grow veg turnips cabbage/sprouts/broc/caulie/punkings/leeks Brassicas do not like newly manured ground. Peas/ beans etc do. Don't plant carrots or parsnips there. They will all split into many fingers. Only plant them in beds that have by shaunandnicola

winter veg
am i too late now to plant winter veg like brussell sprouts,or parnips, am a bit new to growing winter veg , and had great success with runner beand in the summer Far too late -I am afraid-you could try sowing some broad beans now for harvest next by elizabeth 4

Talkback: How to make a composting trench
Is this sufficient time for the material to rot down sufficiently to enable planting on top in May/June? Yes, is the short answer. Some years, eg last, I couldnt start my 'bean trench' for this yrs' crop until the next Spring. Ok, not all by Tom Freeman

Completely new to veg growing
? There's so many different types/varieties Do you like French beans - they're quite easy if you grow the dwarf ones.  Choose things that are expensive in supermarket. That's how I started. You could look at square foot gardening as well. i think by jackie frost

New to this site
not grow very well for me, last year there were loads Great for cut flowers. Same with my runner beans slugs were eating them a lot before growing much I put this down to the wet weather must of seen loads of slugs and snails this year, most of the stuff by Pepperted

Starting seeds indoors
This year, I've decided to try and grow all my fruit & veg from seed. I usually buy plug plants, with mixed success, and I've heard if you grow from seed you can end up with healthier plants. Anyway, I've bought lots of module trays and plan by Bf206

FEED UP WITH THIS WEATHER
