Seed packet grumbles
Why do seed packets contain so little information?  I purchased some seeds from Sara Raven but regret it constantly. There is just not enough info on how to grow the seeds! For example - Morning Glory... they need more than just popping into seed by Outdoor girl

USE BY DATE ON SEEDS
& Leeks were sealed in their foil inner packet  I have planted them in compost in trays and will tend them and rush out to inspect each morning.  Will any germinate?  If so, which?  The seeds I planted with 'Use By' dates are Beetroot Hi Eileen, my father by Eileen Peck

letter B all the beans which are good to grow, beetroot I never manage to grow this very well. Will probably watch on iplayer good that way.  FAB indeed Just watched it . Was very useful, though can't see myself grafting apples! Just need inspiration by David K

and different information. Can anyone recommend a book etc... That will give me all the advice and information I need to become a good gardener. I am very interested in growing vegetables..please help! There are a multitude of books on veg gardening available by lisa berry

beds. The defence in part I am sure is due to copper piping attached all around the edge. So, the 20-30 types of vegetables I'm growing this year are safe-ish. One night I did find a brave slug stretching more than double it's body length over by Cathy

When do you buy your seeds?
seeds starting at 29p a packet and I have always had good results from them. Things like lettuce, beetroot, spring onions, radish, carrot, beans - all types - always grow from seed - dead easy, dead cheap Courgettes, squash, pumkins, cucumbers - nearly by Tina_i_am
