allotment
to scaffolding boards - way to go!  Hi GeeWiz and Co. I have started quite a large veggie plot this year for the first time ever and I am growing potatoes, onions, broad beans, carrots, leeks, spinach, cabbages and runner beans. I've had some help from my Dad by Geewiz

are easy to grow and they can last for years. I've got my broad beans in pots this year. I have grown tomatoes & cucumbers in pots as well as spring onions & salad leaves. I grew potatoes in bags last year & have got some on the go this year too.I have by chutneyhunter

What's loving all this rain?

that freeze well The Runner Beans which accidentally get left to grow big can be taken from the pod and cooked like Broad Beans if you don't require them for seed. I was delighted to see that, even with all their acres and the largest walled kitchen garden i by lusia62

, though not because of pests, just because we got so sick of eating cabbages of all sorts last winter. It was the same story with turnips the year before... note to self, must stop growing things in such vast quantities. But I could eat any amount of broad by southwickman

USE BY DATE ON SEEDS
of flower and veg seeds, all the flowers have germinated, and most of the veg has i,ll let you know more when i do the carrots raddish, when its warm enough, the only things i had a problem with was my runners beans, the broad beans were and are fine by Eileen Peck

help? Things to plant now are broad beans and peas (but not mangetout yet). Also beetroot, parsnip and early carrot varieties can go in now. Shallots, onions sets and garlic can go in now (last chance now for garlic as normally they go in in the spring by super mum
