Completely new to veg growing
're growing flowers or foliage. Cabbages, sprouts, lettuces, leeks, broccoli, onions, etc you eat the leaves - you don't want them to flower at all - you want to encourage plenty of leaf growth so they don't need the potash, they need nitrogen - eg chicken by jackie frost

Sprout Protection

of these have bolted, and Garlic left to look forward to, I've found the same with those grown in bags, but the ones I grew in the ground - same variety -  I've had a bumper crop I'm in Lancashire and usually only grow spuds in bags although this year grew a by Netherfield

seeds not germinated
in a propagator on a windowsill. I don't do well with sweet peas either don't know why. I sowed calendula seeds straight into the ground.  They started to grow, I kept them watered and then they disappeared.  Thought it might be slugs, but no sign by Debbie 11
