What do you think of this combination?
'm going for whites, pale blues and pale pinks, with maybe a stunning dark red/ purple or black plant for contrast and impact. How does the following combination sound? Alliums Aquilegia Verbena Bonariensis Lupins Buddleia A Japanese Maple Feel free by Tina_i_am

Talkback: Local plants (for local people)
in site.My garden is too wet to be able to make a start, my heavy clay like a quagmire, slipped over several times already, so folks be careful out there. Collecting seed of local provenance ticks all the boxes. Not only does it guarantee growing tough by alanthomas

Mystery plants
done with the photos !!!   First is, I think Acanthus Mollis. Second photo looks like Leycesteria formosa - Pheasant Berry shrub. I believe that both can grow quite large - we have the first in the garden and it is quite large - do not have the second by darrenhedden

'weeds' at Chelsea
at the depth of feeling from Lorraine Kelly. Plants which are close to the wild plants, genetically, will hopefully be easier to grow and give me more time for developing  and designing my garden. Last year I was exhausted trying to keep my sweet corn, beans by Loraine Kelly

Star Jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides)
(or it would be if we had more sun). It is alive, not thriving, not growing, not flowering. I'm wondering whether to put it in a pot (better drainage) and overwinter it indoors. I'd prefer it to remain where it is because I want to clothe the pillars by yarrow2

Ooh ooh so excited!
consider after writing this post, that I have a full sun section in my front garden but I never planted with purpose there. Most of the shrubs were put there because the soil was so bad (Ceanothus and Buddleia) or to give them a temporary home until I by Wintersong

Border at school
, and there's always good old flowering currant and Buddleia if you want some to grow fast. I would avoid (if it wasn't already too late in the case of our garden) the more rampant cotoneasters and also Pernettya, which straggles around and puts out messy by Rui Correia
