Can anybody identify these?
, hornbeam, beech, all lovely and give you some summer shade. My wild cherries have very edible fruit as well. How far away from the house would you recommend the Cherry? I think they grow to about 100 feet. 4 of mine are about 30 feet fronm the house by DesignerStu

Suggestions for trees
I'm looking to plant a tree at the end of my garden to give a bit of privacy and interest. Preferably something that flowers but grows up to 10 metres high with a spread of up 5 metres. Any suggestions? All depends really on what you want   Crab by Bettsy

.. Thank you for the responses. The cuttings I took were stem cuttings, so I'll have to see how they turn out. It's very pretty, so  I can live with it self seeding! me too.. was well happy to see the green flowers.. I have seen another growing beside it by Rob Stevens

as they will be the ones that the birds eat before you get anywhere near them!All cherries are edible but some taste horrible.Probably the best fruiting variety is Stella that can be bought on dwarfing root stock so it does not grow too tall. You must net the tree by Scrapcat

Advice for a new veg grower
enormously. Celery is also notoriously difficult to grow.  If you're a first time grower, I'd start with something a bit more forgiving, maybe runner beans, potatoes, and cherry tomatoes in hanging baskets. I must admit finally found some celery plants by Nicholas Hollingshead

fruit trees
hi all can any one help me i dont want to buy more if it hapends again i had 2 plumb trees in dif largish pot the first year nice leaves this year they died  my cooking cherry plant last year cherries this year blossom then nothing can you help by tony ellison

bleeding cherry tree
hi all, i have a 4 year old cherry tree growing in a nice sunny position in our back garden on the south coast. my wife left the label on it attached by a small piece of wire and this has cut into the trunk quite badly to the extent that the tree by bossdaddy

Flowering tree for shady spot
Any suggestions please for a flowering tree (cherry type or similar) for a shady spot?  We have a lightly wooded area at the back of our garden (beyond our fence) and would like to plant a specimen tree in front of it.  Max height about 8 metres x 5 by Nicky H
