New Clematis
chemiclas very much ( I make an exception with provado for lily beetle, as I grow a large amount of those), but some things do call for special action.   If your plant does have clematis wilt, don't worry - you need to make sure the clematis is in the pot by Jill Smith

Planting to disguise very large fence
considering . Hi Clematis montana grows very quickly and in 2 years would probably cover the fence.  It is an early flowerer so another later flowing clematis or a honeysuckle might be good for more interest.  Don't discount ivy, great for wildlife by Nat4

Clematis not developing
I grew clematis in a slightly acid heavy soil successfully for years. Since moving to a light, neutral soil four years ago I have planted several clematis. The established one from my old garden still flowers but has very little new growth. Others by Sheila 5

Clematis
Help, I have a summer flowering clematis about 4years old. Every summer from June - July it grows beautifully loads of flowers and healthy green leaves. Come August black fly attack flowers. I have tried leaving them and letting the ants eat them by Caz8

Dead Leylandi
Can anyone suggest something that might grow through/on and disguise a Leylandi hedge that has been cut back far too severely. Will it recover? Too big to heave out for  various reasons. Thanks If it has been cut into brown stems by Jeanne Bradley

Clematis nelly moser
://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/profile.aspx?pid=97  The trouble with growing from seed is that they take years to flower. Also, they don't come true to the parent plant. I agree that layering is the easiest option. According to the Garden Action website, the following clematis are easy to grow from by bunnysgarden

pyracantha, honeysuckle or other
not to remove the flowers and buds - which will produce the berries in Autumn. Pyracantha is a sturdy plant, and would support a honeysuckle growing through it. That would be an interesting combination. There are quite a few clematis that can cope with a shady by Bill Mansfield
