And the more you pick the more you'll harvest, Pippa. I too love those beans and find myself having them twice a day to keep up with the crop. They are such great value and well worth the effort. my courgettes aint coming along at all ever since i by lazygardner

potatoes for the winter
curve this year. I've had lots of courgettes and some peas a few pepers, onions lots of tomatoes,some cabbages too.  And have growing in deep pots (2ft deep) carrots, leeks and parsnips all seem to be doing well.. The purple sprouting brocilli got eaten by flowergirl4

the seeds to grow them from the pumkin she got thanks Hi Joseph, I wouldn't recommend using the seeds from the pumpkin your wife bought. Pumpkins can cross-pollinate very easily with other cucurbits, including courgettes, so you couldn't guarantee that your by Ag Spray

Can unsterilized compost ever be used for tomatoes?
from previous plants, in case of disease. My courgettes, cucumbers and raised beds don't seem to object to my compost. Should I just stick to shop bought compost for toms? (Bit of background...I'm new to forums) I have grown tomatoes and various other by purpleschnauzer

Any advice appreciated on where best to grow kohl rabi. Plus how big should the plants be before I plant them in their final place? Any other growing tips on this veg much appreciated as always. I grew a fine crop of Purple Vienna Kohl rabi last by Tootles

few things we have grown so far..
. Just drag and drop stuff and content for your pages. Spring onions, dont forget to thin them out the same with your lettuces  Always got to grow courgettes, dead easy and loads of fun. same with pumkins and squahes. a bit late now but for next year by chellie

squash seed germination
- anyone want some Butternut Squash plants ?  I've had courgette 'Black Hawk' inside for 5 weeks and none of them have germinated.  Bit annoying as they were F1 so quite expensive and I only got 4 seeds.  The squash seeds I got from a supermarket squash by greenfingaz

Well I ran out of space!!!
Well that's it! I officially ran out if space. After setting my courgettes and gazania kiss series in my propogators (windowsill) I decided to take stock. However I still want to plant some tomato seeds and some scabiosa and some penstemon by * Red Dahlia *
