Talkback: Summer berries
!! Elder growing wild is excellent for making wine with the flowers. Or leave the flowers to turn into berries and make jam with them - easy in your microwave and the berries are a rich source of vitamin C. Hello LilaI planted red & black currant bushes by auntyskitchen

Echinecias
I grew some Echinecias from seed last year. Planted them out and eventually they did grow to the point of having a flower head on them. I've left them in situ and now they look like dead sticks. Should I cut them back? Thanks for any information by hollie hock

Disappointed with strawberries...
flavour - I've noticed that some of mine weren't as good as they should be. Mine is a smalll garden but there are at least 30-40 plants in a narrow strip 1ft by 10ft, they were planted under new currant and  gooseberry bushes. I get sun from morn to dusk by Zoomer44

Talkback: Plants for bees
of starvation over the winter or in the early Spring. There are a number of non native trees which are helpful, and among shrubs we suggest Mahonia and Sweet Box - both easy to grow and forgiving of shade. I'd also recommend Crocuses and Hellebores to help out by Lindy
