Talkback: Growing daffodils
hope this isn't construed as a 'commercial endorsement' but (at least in the case of my Belfast store) Sainsburys are offering 30 mixed
daffodil
bulbs for £2, quite a bargain. There are no squirrels badgers or similar creatures where I live

Spring ideas
arrives. It's getting a bit late for some bulbs but you can certainly still plant
daffodils
and crocus, and tulips next month. Avoid snowdrops, though - they will have dried out out of the ground and probably won't
grow
. You can plant tulips until December

What to do with dead flowers/Tulips/Daffodils
Hello I planted lots of tulips and
daffodil’s
last year, and they have come up and now I have some questions. 1. What should you do when the flowers die? (do they need digging up etc) 2. Is there any way of preventing
daffodils
flowers collapsing

What do I do
. These are what is classed as'naked', bulbs. They lack the skin of say
daffodils
, so they cannot take being dried out. This is why the ones often bought from shops fail to
grow
, they have desiccated so much they are dead.

Daffodil and Tulip Bulbs
the tulips out as soon as flowering is over and let them dry off, plant them later in the year.
Daffodils
should be left in the pots until the leaves have died down completely, then get them out promptly as they will start to
grow
roots again in no time. All

Daffodils
Any idea how a
daffodil
has managed to pop up in the middle of the lawn. It has a flower bud on it. Lived here about 7 years and don't recall seeing anything there before. Puzzled...... They take quite a while from seed, maybe you missed the young

Talkback: Blind daffodils
and it worked. None died. i have some blind
daffodils
in the long grass but i think that may be because they are congested so i will dig them up and replant them in the green. I had loads of blind daffs last year, I put it down to the weather the year before
