Absolutely gutted - feel cheated
After a lovely time growing seeds, getting ready to pot on and feeling thoroughly proud. I decided about a month ago to kick on and pot up. So off I go and potted up everything.  The compost started to form green crust on the top, despite watering by * Red Dahlia *

Dhalia Novice needs some advice.
Hi all, I grew my first Dahlia's from tubers this year. I started them in pots and put them into position in the garden in June (i think). They are now growing fantastically and they all have many flowers. They seem to me to be in their prime by Soney

Silly question about clay
I have just discovered that one end of my garden is composed of 20 - 25 cm topsoil overlying solid clay on one side and sand/gravel on the other - both clearly natural. I had hope to plant some dahlias down there this year (on the clay by PaperFlowers

Dahlia
I have a problem with my dahlia's grown from seed.  60% of them did not flower but produced a pointy seed head and then turned black or one leaf came out.  Such a shame as the ones that came out were lovely.  Could anyone help me please.  Tried by Veronica3

Dahlia Giving up the Ghost
I had 2 dozen very healthy dahlia seedlings that were potted on and growing well but over the last 10 days the true leaves are first curling up then wilting and dying.  The seed leaves remain fine.  They have good light, warmth and sufficient water by Botticelliwoman

My dahlia tubers are not doing anything
I overwintered my dahlia tubers in the garage - I planted them in compost around mid March (same time as Monty Don).  On GW last week he took cuttings from his ones but mine have not done anything at all.  Nothing is coming through at all Does by Lavender Lady

Talkback: Plant hunters
Hey James, I hunted down DAHLIA merckii earlier this year. I love it, but dont know how to keep it through winter. It is still in a little pot in my coldframe, should I cut back the foliage and dry it like your conventional DAHLIA? I understand by christina20340
