Should I dig up my Allysum?
germinate and grow one year and flower, seed and die the next year. There are also perennials, which live for several years. Many of these die back to nothing over winter, producing fresh growth in spring (e.g., lupins, delphiniums) whilst others keep a few by Jo Hamilton

Where do you grow your Allium's?
, that will hide the dying leaves. They prefer full sun but most will do ok in light or dappled shade They do seem to put up with a lot. They seed themselves about and some of them end up in the shade. I just bung them in where I need height before the delphiniums by lucky3
