Under a conifer
taken off the lower branches up to around 5ft from the ground but I'm now looking for perennial evergreen plants that would grow well around the base. The soil is heavy clay and very rooty from the tree. Do you think I could find anything, or is it a by Stephanotis33

Restore and revive

New border with complications?

Front garden plants?
not be about the usual hedging plants. I grow a "hedge" along the side of my veg patch comprising euonymous emerald n gold, variegated box, potentilla, a good blue rosemary, Lonicera nitida Baggesons Gold (love this one) and a couple of half standard prunus by Bookwormy

Advice for a novice
such as the small hollies are good, christmas box, any of the smaller euonymous, golden laurel  - lots of choices for pots, worth looking around some good web sites for what is on offer now. The reality is that you can grow anything in a pot as long as you by Stewart Forward

Composting
This weekend I pruned my Euonymous emerald 'n' green & was hesitant on putting the cuttings in the 'darlek' to compost down as they have a bit of a waxy feel to them. Do they compost well? What other type of prunings DO NOT ie Laurel, Photina by Chris Norton
