them on GW I would love them in my garden. Hi Kate the first time I saw Snakes head fritillaries they were growing in a clay pan under cover in a Alpine house in some ones garden in Crawley,I had no Idear how small they are.I have seen today my second by donutsmrs

They are back
I have just found my first lilly beetles of the year on my fritillaries. So be on the look out and happy squashing I'd better check mine tomorrow.  Until about 5 years ago I'd never seen one.  Alive and kicking in my garden Saw my first ones last by punkdoc

Talkback: Caring for naturalised bulbs
crocus have popped their heads through and are now in flower, it was such a lovely surprise. All my tomato plants are growing really well and I've sown herbs this week as well, they are in their propagators sat on my kitchen window cill. It is so nice by donutsmrs

Disappearing daffodils
't appeared at all.  That's the same problem I have.  The ones in the garden which is well drained are fine but not a sign of them in the areas which were waterlogged for so long. I'm not really surprised. I'm hoping the snakeshead fritillaries in the same by Northyorkaster

Where do you grow your Allium's?
get going. Those beige/brown jobs that used to be called alliums and aren't anymore. They grow well in shade and their name will come to me soon if nobody else comes uip with it They are not called Fritilleries  are they ?  I used to think these were by lucky3

like fritillaries. thank you so much , have just checked and had to kill some more so will keep checking. Check under the leaves, too, for their eggs (laid in batches of 20 or so).  Those are also bright red and can easily be rubbed off - much less by Kernowmaid

. Just remember that you can't use "Weed & Feed" type products on your lawn if you want naturalized bulbs. We made that mistake for 2 years before it dawned on us why the bulbs never did well...LOL! Oh Snake Head Fritillaries are my absolute favourite by Lu

Where have all the hostas gone?
.  Also noticed this morning that seemingly overnight my Snake's head fritillaries have come up and are about to open.  Very exciting as I've not grown these before! Tulips are also on the cusp This being my first year gardening, I'm loving by dizzylizzy
