Gooseberries - no fruits
I have got two very healthy looking gooseberry bushes in my garden but for the second year they have produced no fruits whatsoever. Any ideas please? Thank you. Have you pruned them at all? I thought the same and started to dig out the bush by thymeandahalf

Raspberries
I have limited space in my veg patch and wondered whether I would be able to grow raspberries and other soft fruit such as blackcurrants and gooseberries against a fence which gets about 4/5 hours sunshine a day.  I do not want to utilise one of my by lorrainespooner

Talkback: Summer berries
for those who hate the prickles of gooseberries - they are a cross between a gooseberry and a blackcurrant. I treat mine like a blackcurrant and prune a third away each year after harvesting. They are delicious raw and you can use them as substitutes by auntyskitchen

Fruit for amatures
I've been interested in horticulture since an early age but now at the age of 19 i'm thinking of growing some fruit. Before i do so i wouldn't mind getting the opinions of others to see their views on a good fruit to start off on and how i would by ApprenticeSam

replanting after hedge removal
plants and preparing the bed would be welcome. I think roots will be a problem but digging them out is not an optio! Libby, I have known Currants and Gooseberries do well on a north west side but they were well off the fence and did get some sun. Most by libbyhawthorn@gmail.

Talkback: Growing salad crops
often mix some with Baby Gem leaves to have with salmon and hollandaise sauce or a sharp vinaigrette   We love salads and I always grow a wee tapestry of green Cos and red oak leaf lettuce in spring and summer.  Looks good and tastes good as well by patricia nicholls
