planting herbs in pots
with ordinary multi purpose compost but mediterranean herbs will need it to be very free draining, so grit will need to be added. Which are in the majority? Thanks Kate ive got all the herbs you mentioned plus more, and all in tomato grow bag soil, i had 2 bags by Jean Batstone

very good to read about and try out I have rosemary growing wildly in my backyard. I also have lavender and spearmint growing in my garden. great comments from people that know, the wonders of these herbs. enjoy anything about herbs, really loved by bulgaria

Advise please
I would like to create a herb display in an area in my garden. Any ideas please? Thank you.. One thing most herbs love is well-drained soil.  What type of soil do you have in the garden?  I have clay which doesn't really suit them, so I grow my by Sarahlou67

Need an all rounder organic solution to pests
a bowl, cut out any diseased stems or leaves and only use the fresh new growth for cooking.I am renewing my whole herb bed as they do out grow themselves, not having any idea of your weather they do need a South facing aspect and fairly dry by JOHN KENNY2

can you grow forest flame from a cutting of an already healthly plant why does this pot need bubble wrap and polystyrene chips when other pots with herbs don't seem to? what is the bubble wrap for? This is for a window sill box, so I assumed by barbsf84

Fairy ring and fruit and veg?
Hi, I'm digging up a large portion of my lawn to make a veg patch and herb garden.  I'm also planning to grow some fruit (pears, gooseberries and a grapevine).  Part of the lawn had fairy rings and the soil beneath the turf is very dry and full by Dovefromabove

I'm the kiss of death to herbs it seems......
to be sowing some herbs. Basil and coriander for instance, like it to be warmer. Basil's a meditarenian plant, some varieties do better in our climate, than others, I grow Minette which does well here in the North West. I don't think it's worth sowing by The Manic Slughunter:)
