Spring -summer
Heucheras retain their foliage for most of the year, I now have colour throughout the year....in midst of winter I think your garden can lift the gloom and your spirits with just a single bloom I've been wary of evergreens since losing some in those really by Bunny..

Front garden very uninteresting
cornus would also be good as they get pruned each spring to grow new stems for the fresh winter colour.  Alba Sibirica has the reddest stems.   Elegans has variegated foliage and burgundy stems.  Midwinter Fire has flame effect stems but can sucker when by Rosa carriola

Please help me design my garden - part 1
and colours, many of them perennial), perovskia, some dependable and adaptable shrubs like Spiraea and Skimmia, colourful foliage like Heuchera and  Tiarella. All of these are easily available and won´t need much care. How about two or three lupins near by Laura P

show on television and I am determined to be there next year.I particularly liked rhubard and custard from yorkshire and the eden project completed by the homeless it was so inspirational.I do not think Chelsea is elitist,anyone can grow plants by happymarion

hostas among purple heucheras in a semi-shaded corner look great at the moment. I'm always envious of anyone who can grow hostas in a border. I have to keep them in isolated pots - even so, they get eaten by September, as by them nearby plants by auntie betty

. Thanks   Acid or alkaline soil? There are quite a few acid lovers in there, where are you? I tested the soil last week and all came up Neutral, hence the reason I have put up this post.     Bare in mind that they need to grow alongside some Roses by Rui Correia

Not all bad news in the garden
and evening sun. The Heuchera has flowered with tall bracts above the purple leaves next to the Fuchsia with its red flowers and the Potentilla with its yellow flowers.There is so much in bloom as other plants finish and get dead headed, The Peonia leaves by Palaisglide
