't the best and the soil is a bit compacted....but they are growing. Do you think it's best to pot on? will this speed up their growth? Thanks for any information   I don't know if it's normal hollie hock but it's how mine are. Waiting for some warmth perhaps by hollie hock

holly bush
Hi does anybody know how big the roots are on a holly bush/tree?  ie do they grow down into the soil or spread out? I have an overgrown bush which I would like to attempt to move.  Assuming i don't get prickled to death by its leaves, how big by Christine Bethell

Pruning tall evergreen holly
of holly trees (which actually come up like weeds in suitable circumstances), by cutting them right down to ground level. But they grow up again, as vigourous as before. It is not easy to get rid of a holly tree. A simple wooden frame might help to get by Hu Cro

. Hi Sue, Removing them sounds like a lot of work ! But glossing quickly over that .... we have holly hedges which are evergreen and pretty dense - they certainly screen us from the road.  Also a beech hedge isn't evergreen, but keeps its leaves all by Sue F

seed trouble
Hi all, am finding planting seeds a bit hit and miss, is this normal or am i doing something wrong, zinnia, cosmos, marigolds, some dahlias and a few sea holly came up lovely but naga chilli didnt show or stock, aster, red rudbeckia and poppies by Buttercup123

out and about in the Quantock hills
types of heather that grow on the moors.Here the heather(ling) grows in abundance and looks stunning when its out as does the yellow gorse with its coconut scent.There are Holly trees,oak,Hawthorn growing here on top as well as in the wooded valleys by flowering rose

Lamium and Ajuga propagation
I grew  Lamium and  Ajuga in pots last year and I would like to propagate them. All the books seem to say that if they grow in the ground they produce their own offsets and therefore they should be divided. As they are in containers can I take by kate1123
