in white, bright and pale pink. Virginia Creeper or Boston Ivy are both climbers that grow in shade and have good autumn colour Other plants that are happy in shade are hostas, bergenia cordifolia (can be very bright pink flowers), lilly of the valley by Alan4711

shade loving ground cover
ferns are god in shade as are hostas which will give floiage colour and variegations and tall spikes of white, lilac or purple flowers. All will benefit from having plenty of good garden compost or well rotted manure worked into the soil before planting by Tigger Tom

hi i have loads and loads of bumblebees out the front of my house for weeks.i was wondering where there nest was.they have been busy taking the pollen from the heather,crocuses i also have a very large wissteria in flower growing up the house by Dancer

What's loving all this rain?
trap and the others growing well . I'm bringing them in at night cos I don't trust the slugs - they seem to be eating everything . Like everyone else though the garden in general is suffering a serious lack of sun. Still no flowers on the sweetpeas by Leggi

weatehr I usually use it to grow a few potatoes but it'll drain too fast now.  Bummer. Rosa - cleaning for me too before I get out there.  Just learne dthat chappy is coming round this pm to sign the contracts for our damp proofing and the floor is covered by obelixx

What's it like in your garden?
.  The cotoneasterwas in full flower by 9th May last year but this year it is nowhere near flowering. This will be the third year I have kept visual records of my borders to capture the beauty of the plants I choose to grow and also to help me make by Wintersong

Downie, the blackbids leave the fruit on the tree until the ground freezes, this is obviously their emergency reserve, I grow a lot of different lavenders from seed, other bird/insect magnets are oregano, rosemary and ecchium blue bedder,all have a by determinedpeterplant

Waterlogged area
have to be careful about willow roots getting into pipes.  I bought mine from World of Willow. I was hoping to plant some veg in it but thought  about rhubarb Try some celeriac - they love water and taste good too.  I gave up growing them when my water by BensGrandad

Hosta or Weed?
Hi, sorry newbie gardener and not sure if this is a hosta or whether it is a weed as it seems to be overtaking the garden and I have quite a few of them spread around now. Any help qppreciated. Foxglove-will be in flower soon. Was there a prize? Wow by Claire8
