Growing hyacinths in water
Hi all, I'd like my gardening club (primary school children) to grow hyacinths to take home at Christmas. I ideally would like to grow them in water so the children can see the roots. My problem is what kind of clear (everyday) container could I use by Daintiness

Growing hyacinth in a glass vase help please
Hi guys, I'm a  little bit confused here and wonder if you can help, we have bought some 'prepared' hyacinth bulbs and the small glass vases to grow them in, we've not forced bulbs before and not sure if we need to keep them in the dark at low by Norm2

Grape hyacinths
How do I get rid of Grape Hyacinths? I have dug so many up but the little seedling bulbs keep coming up like grass, should I weed killer them? you could try digging out the soil and sieving it back the little bulbs should then be easy to find by crysta

Temporarily repotting amaryllis and hyacinths?

Hyacinth Bulbs
doubly sure I do it properly! thank you ;-) I planted some hyacinths next to my front door which I received as a growing Xmas present and they flowered the following spring.  They are in a spot which gets baked in the sun and they are quite deep because I by BrendaScott53

can grow?-that flower in December? Very difficult if doing it yourself. White hyacinths and Paperwhite daffodils can flower in December. Probably best to ask a florist what they can provide. They will have access to flowers grown under glass. There by Jean Ewing

And, if you do want to grow your tulips in pots like Adam and have squirrels in your garden or nearby, remember to put netting over the pots or they will dig them up. Tulip bulbs seem to have a smell like ambrosia for squirrels. They make a by sheddy

the  Hyacinths ? Chillies, basil, peppers and tomatoes will need warmth and light to grow properly, not frostproof. Once the hyacinths have flowered as indoor plants you can plant them in the garden, where they will flower later in spring next year, but by Jinty40
