blanketweed in my wildlife pond
I made a wildlife pond last year which has newts, frogs & other pond creatures in it but also alot of blanketweed. It is 20ft by 12ft and has 3 waterlilies, irises,oxygenaters and various shallow marginals. I pull out the blanketweed at intervals by dovetail

Success and Failures ...
well in big raised beds. For irises I get them in raised beds and use lots of grit for drainage and have also done them in pots to move around.  I can't grow acid loving plants or plants that are borderline hardy. Can't grow evergreen ceonothus by Brumbull

Snails - the French have the right idea
have bounced back though and I am on a mission to grow plants that snails wont eat,.    Plants I have grown that haven't been eaten by them are euphorbia, fuscia's, lavender, roses, granny's bonnet, geraniums, jasmine, some grasses, azalias, heathers by raspberry0131

Daffodils
but an adjacent farmer's field is full of them for sale. They seed easily I think. So it is possible to grow them from seed if you don't mind waiting a few years for flowers? Yes, crocus pop up everywhere in my garden. Perhaps the leaves of the developing by Judith 5

but not full sun. I would say anything that grows in full sun, just be wary of the amount of moisture available though as the tree will take alot of it. Thanks Dave , could be trial and error then ... Goes from very wet (sloping field behind draining through by Bunny..

in a quiet spot and see if they'll grow at all. It all depends how they've been stored, whether the bulbs have dried out, or started to decay. If they appear sound then do give them the benefit of the doubt and plant them. And do post feedback later by Alice
