Talkback: Ivy
the ground and getting everywhere. I think it all depends on the ivy involved. I had one growing up the front of the house and I removed it. It was one with enormous leaves and, to me, not very attractive, but a smaller leaved version would have been okay. I by Anne Wareham

Ivy
I am looking to plant a vigorous growing ivy that will provide shelter for birds and insects and has lots of good berries. Any suggestions would be very welcome as I am not having much luck in garden centres! Thanks it sounds ridiculous, but I by Sandra 3

chloride (sold under brand name of Root Out or you can buy just as the chemical). Cover with a plastic bag if rain is forecast. That'll kill it! Nothing else will grow there for at least 6 months though. When you remove the ivy from your wall the best tool by sharon buckingham

Threadbare Laurel
I have recently removed a LOT of ivy from a large laurel hedge and am now left with a very threadbare skeleton. Will the leaves of the laurel grow back in all the right places, or do I need to prune it to stimulate growth? I'd hack it right back by adam450

How to cover a slope with ivy cuttings
I have ivy growing locally in the hedges and trees beside my house - if I snip off little cuttings with the roots and plant them directly onto a stoney/grass slope in my garden will they grow?  This area is unsightly and I wish for the ivy to take by DONS1979

Is ivy a good thing or a bad thing?
that it'll become a serious nuisance and almost impossible to remove. Hate Ivy.  Hate hate hate.  Our next door neighbour (the one that's a bit of a nutter) has it growing on his wall and over the garden wall, I'm forever chopping it back, trying to leave by Blueboots
