Autumn and what now?
friendly garden you need a variety of plants that flowered from autumn to spring. Hi everyone. We have quite a lot of fences with ivy growing up them. The bees absolutely love the flowers which last well into the winter. ChrisX lovetogarden wrote (see) We by Cia

Shadyish paving creepers
Anyone got any suggestions for plants that'll creep through the gaps between paving in slightly shady spots? Soil is average loam and limy. I've done your bugles, sedums, violets, tiny ivies and london pride, and whatever I use needs to be pretty by auntie betty

Slugs and snails - help needed!!
they are a living organism with a 'use by' date   The ivy is probably a place that snails will 'snooze' in during the day. Regular searches & stamping on any found is one option I suppose. Nemaslug, nematodes, only tend to work on slugs I thought. Growing by fraggle84

Soil Problem
of years ago, before I moved in to my flat, there was ivy growing in that soil. Could that be to blame? Or is there something else in that particular patch of soil which is causing the problem?   Could the previous occupier have used a strong weedkiller by Kerry Ward

north faceing wall
about climbers to fit your criteria. I grow a lovely ivy called Buttercup that grows in sun and partial shade. The leaves are a beautiful shade of yellow. Gold heart is another ivy I grow. It's a bright variegated form I think may grow on north wall by Alan4711
