Are sterile plants any good for wildlife?
of the old flower spikes and take them back to yours and wang the flower heads around scattering the seeds.  (Now is the perfect tiem to do this) I find this is always much more effective in sowing foxgloves them trying to grow in pots you can always move by Lunarz

Calling Mrs P - or anyone who can grow Verbena bonariensis from seed
I know it seeds itself, and it has, but being a tender perennial as an insurance I've tried to grow it from packet seed myself the last 2 years. Not a one germinates- Zilch! Mrs P says in her review that it grows easily, so Mrs P can you give me by quercus_rubur

Clay soil problem
and fertiliser but make your own compost to augment animal manure.  I can grow anything I want in my garden ,even things that like acid soil by careful placing of trees whose leaves break down to acidify the soil .  Start with robust plants like potatoes.  look by L0la

unless you can provide the right conditions and it appears your options are limited Those fingers need to itch a bit longer-what do you want to grow exactly? You could plant bulbs already growing in pots and bought in the garden centre, such as daffodils by kerri
