Hot roof garden = dry pots!
once a week. I just used miracle grow compost.   The big disappointment was my drought loving plants such as Lavender, Thyme and Rosemary... They all died by mid summer!   So my first question is - what did I do wrong?! Too much watering?   This year I by Jessica CB

Low Maintenance Garden Boarders for Novice
boarders that are low maintenance but add some colour in the summer/spring months. So far I have on my list white roses, daffodils, lavender, white hydrangeas, mixed peonies and small topiary plants. Am I on the right track? Thanks in advance! If those by Sion1981

Very short echinacea
it is supposed to be - but the one the other side is only about 30-40cm.  The tall one is surrounded by lupins and the short one has got a lavender next to it and a large jasmine behind it with lupins on the other side.  I have fed them both equally this year by Lunarz

Ideas for planters on patio?
have time or opportunity to plant or weed. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks! Purple lavender? If the planters are near to the Kitchen, why not use them to put herbs in, or salad crops like lettuces and radishes?  I'm sure your children by LucyLocket5

Roses on my driveway
of cold winters and warm, sometimes dry summers.   I have been growing lavenders from seed since the spring (Hidcote, Munstead & Elegance Sky) and rosemary, and my plan is to use these as between and underplanting for some rosa rugosa.  I will probably go by ChapelGirl2

I suppose this method applies for lavender cuttings too ?As far as I can see the guy started out from dry compost ?I followed every single step of this interesting video-project.However, a few of the leafs of the cuttings are turning blackafter one by DHOORG

Plants for edging a path
bit of colour. Preferably low growing plants. Small campanulas, hardy geraniums or alchemilla mollis would be lovely. You may want to deadhead alchemilla as she can self seed but she is beautiful. Thymus silver Posie. Lovely taller thyme with pinky by zampano

just a lil' update
these last couple of weeks it has really put on a charge.  Just my lil ted primroses and connifer  lavender.  lillies that i bought, the ones i planted as bulbs havent arrived at all jasmine struggling  this plant seemed to suffer badly during winter by David 25
