Inspiration required for replacing a pond
Hi I'm thinking of replacing our pond as it is leaking, the pump has stopped working and it may be too small for the fish. I can move the fish to a friends pond but need ideas on what to put in place of the pond. I was thinking of maybe a bog garden by Kamo

Concrete back yard
I am hoping to move to South Shields soon, but the flat has a concrete back yard.  I need advice on how to make/seed/look after some sort of small raised bed to grow grass for my 2 dogs to use.  I am also not sure if I need another raised bed by Jenny Paterson

Talkback:
bottom of the fence on the one side but would that make the soil unsafe to grow stuff?  Can it leak in and make the soil/vegetables full of bad chemicals?  Would be very grateful for any advice. Thanks by Zara2

bald patch on lawn
and every year it is as bold as before, I even dug up the old soil patch over the winter months and replaced with new soil but still nothing grows. Its not even a place i could replace it with slabs as it would look very odd, although i did think of painting by r1tchard

How to create base of bog garden?
I have a leaking cement pond that I am going to turn into a bog garden. I've been advised to put some holes in the bottom, then put some poor soil in and that's it - just plant it up with marginal plants. This seems too easy. Is that really all I by Blueboots

Ivy or not?
I was considering growing ivy up the hut to cover it, protect it a little from the elelments, maybe keep some water out! give the birdies some food as the back garden is slabs and chips unfortunately. Looking for the positives and negatives by gcowen
