Talkback: Garden birds, squirrels and fruit crops
tayberry growing in a pot had some fruit on yesterday morning, yesterday afternoon all gone. It is alright to grow tayberry in a pot? I didnt want it take over the garden. i found this website and i like its products just waiting for my delievery now by judith

Slugs
if there's lovely young lettuce or cabbage spread around the plants you want to keep! Lettuce you can grow 10 a penny, also means collecting them up is real easy every night. I don't use anything ...as Ben says cost .. I hunt them at night I haven't yet by Pamelala

Is it ever going to STOP!!!!
I am getting very very cross at this weather!!!   Everything in the garden is retarded...The dreaded blight got to the first earlies so up they came  on the plus side  they were very nice... The runners wont grow properly  they just start then stop by susan howard2

, maybe because the soil is acid/sandy, on the edge of a heath?) Even the spinach beet and lettuce from seed did really well. The usual advice is to grow food that's expensive rather than cheap to buy, but I got huge satisfaction from feeding my family of four with my own by lisa berry

stores, but try the T.V.channels i did saved pounds  One thing I learnt is get the children invoved and the younger the better  There are lots of different sorts of perennial geraniums which are pretty and very easy to grow, also veronicas, penstemons by Laura P

Beans not germinating/being eaten
on as they grow, in these appalling conditions of high winds, torrential rain, clarty soil, and voracious meeces, slugs and snails. I've been sowing them inside and planting them out when they get big enough but all of them have either been eaten by slugs by Lokelani
