What fruit veg could i plant in a shady garden(peas, strawberries)?
. Cherry tomato type usually smaller plants. Rhubarb. Lettuce fine in part shade so worth a try. Goes well in cotainers as less slug damage! Hope this helps... thanks for the help ! My garden faces north-east so I only get some sun at an angle for part by jpharro

Talkback: Sowing seeds
first batch has got brilliant groth Where do you keep your tomatoe seedlings? I always think of chillies as being one of the hardest things to grow...I think this may say more about our relative levels of competance than anything about chillies by Gardening Express

Salad leaves
lettuce will still be available but this is not the same.  i love the peppery, mustardy, bitter and sweet bitefuls you can get from growing the mixture.  Does anyone know how long those kind of seeds are viable for as I am hoping to be able to stock up wth by happymarion

how often should i water new seedlings
seedlings are you talking about? I'm growing a large variety of veg of all different types I never have problems watering from the bottom using a good seed compost and adaquate drainage. It only takes a minute or so if you are using a shallow tray by Nicholas Hollingshead

small veg patch
a fantastic flavour.  I grow Swiss chard throughout most of the year, and broad beans as again, you cannot get really fresh ones in the shops.  I will also grow some of the more unusal varieties of lettuce.  I always grow a couple of courgette plants by osso
