Talkback: How to grow rockets leaves from seed
and lettuce. Any body know if it does grow okay indoors and other top tips for success would be much appreciated. I see some of you have been sowing the rocket in November - i think the reason this doesnt grow is that the light levels are too low - also could by Lynneod

I know how you feel Kate, I too have had a battle with them. Unlike you, I do have some runner beans growing, though I did think at the start I wouldn't have any left. I must admit that I did put a few pellets down at the start but now I am using by donutsmrs

Ideas for planters on patio?
have time or opportunity to plant or weed. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks! Purple lavender? If the planters are near to the Kitchen, why not use them to put herbs in, or salad crops like lettuces and radishes?  I'm sure your children by LucyLocket5

Carrot bed

victorian garden/cottage garden
garden grew veg and flowers intermixed, i am trying this, this year so have planted cabbage, onions, sweetcorn and lettuce in amoung my perenials in my borders. Can anyone tell me if they have tried this and what results they had and did they experience by dennis williams

Is there anything that can go in now for an autumn crop ?
onions, garlic and some brassicas over winter. (I don't know which exact varieties but hopefuly someone on here will point us both in the right direction). Anything quick growing-salad crops perhaps-radish ,lettuce etc beetroot would work, carrots might by blueberry77

Hi i have just moved into a huge house with a huge garden & decided i would like to grow my own fruit & veg so we dug out my little allotment got planting and all was doing great but now everything is growing well the slugs and snails have decided by Squawk

Strawberries in hanging baskets
I'm growing strawberries in baskets in the greenhouse for the first time. The plants have just started producing runners. Do I cut them off ?? Can I propogate them somehow to give me a few extra plants for next year ?? Thanks   I did this a few by Daisy Cottage
