Novice Gardener needs help
so probably won't be good beginners plants.  Perennials like crocosmia and day lilies (hemerocallis) are easy to grow and perennial.  You can also buy bulbs for every season which will come back every year. Hi, Thank you so much for all your advice by Lucy3

blooming for 2 or 3 weeks is beautiful but remains very small even though in its third year. I believe known as the lenten flower, or easter lily, and as it has been blooming early, do you think the plant knows that lent is early this year!!!?, but more by Lorrie Flannery

Talkback: Fragrant plants
My favourite in the winter is the Sarcococca - smells so sweetly and for a great distance. My late husband was blind for 15 years and I filled the garden with scented plants for his sake. His favourite was Sweet William and I still grow lots by Chiswickian

plicata in your pot, it is a small slow growing Golden Conifer I have had some for years and they give a year round show for little effort apart from a light trim and a feed now and then. They like a slightly acid soil and the gold turns to bronze by pansy2

it is cold, cool when it is hot, hide it from predators and parasites and are a useful byproduct from its liquid diet. Many sap-suckers have the problem of sucking so much food to get enough protein to grow that they have to find some way of getting rid by caitlin

Some pics of my before and after garden
.  The garden is crammed full with plants, no weeds can get a look in.  We have a visiting hedgehog who helps with the snail and slug population.  This year we removed our shed and have installed a greenhouse so I will be growing more for next year. Hope you by Lavender Lady
