Grasses
suggestions please? I hate pampass grass so that wouldnt work. I would try the black grass Ophiopogon, low growing, good contrast with pebbles. Thank you, I am writing that down now to have have a look festuca glauca is good too.   Grasses are wind pollinated by summerpots

Scented flowers
the colour as well.    My fave rave at the moment is Daphne bholua 'Jaqueline Postill', beloved by Roy Davison. It's a slow growing semi-evergreen that will get to 6ft. They are devilishly expensive (£30-60) but will reward you for weeks with their waxy very by David Hurrion

Day lily not flowering
After moving into our house almost two years ago, we were given a number of plants from my parents, including a clump of day lilies.   They grow brilliantly in my parents garden in Cardiff, but this is the second summer they've been in our garden by SiwanS
