Why do they look like this?
Hi, for the past 2 years i have been trying to grow Nasturtiums.  However both years they have looked like the above photo.  Any idea, what i could be doing wrong.   The current bed they are in was only created this year would that have anything by Lupinmac

Cabbage Butterflies & Nasturtium

Annual climbers
I am in the process of growing some climbing annuals from seed I am growing Rhodochiton, Sweet Peas and Canary Creeper.  The Canary Creeper is getting very straggily, so I shall repot it prior to planting out. Should I pinch out the tops by Val9

straight into the garden.   Nasturtiums can be sown direct in the garden about now - the ones in the picture look like the trailing variety (which I much prefer) rather than the more modern bush varieties. They are very easy and will 'just grow'.  The by gerard mcmanus

Rambling roses
Can I plant a rambling rose to grow up a fir tree or is the environment too acid?  Have many fir trees and want to make them a little more interesting. ....you can plant one, but it's whether you'll want to spend the time tieing the rose to the tree by gadrury

's also climbing nasturtium, Morning Glory and Canary Creeper, amongst others.  It's probably a bit late in the day to start growing all of them from seed now as some take a while to get going but many of the plant catalogues sell annual climbers as plants by lkendall
