Perennial project the forum way

I have just thrown an accumulated pile of empty toilet roll tubes into the recycling. This post reminded me I was planning to grow lots of sweet corn this year so I'll go and take them back out. (The loo rolls.) Then I'll find the sweet corn seeds by LGNOTTS

`empty Plot
but would love some advice on what is best do do with it now as I dont want weeds to take over.  Thought of more green manure or weed matting till next year but would be nice to maybe try and grow something over winter. I am a real beginer by SarahTho

What to sow in January
talking about? You could sow sweetpea now, I always sow in the autumn but again anytime now and I've been growing them for years. Also what about Cornflowers and Calendula, they could be sown now too perhaps. I do have a covered back yard with perspex as a by nodlisab
