Rust/falling over
on that is to blame. What we'd like to know is what is safe to grow on the same area once it's been dug over? Also, our onions are falling over. Can anyone advise on this? There is no sign of onion rot or suchlike....we dug one up and had it for our dinner (not on it by Ady&CaroleAnn

onions flowering
Is there any point in leaving my maincrop onions in as they have started to flower? I have picked off the flowers but wonder if they will get any bigger. Some are no larger than when they went in! I could use the space for something else by edzell

bolting onions
's the only solution Did you grow these from seed or sets and when did you start them off? They were sets in the autumn, did really well up until now! There is no point in saving the seed. Use the onions that have bolted in the kitchen, they will not store by chicken!

Container potatoes and veg
Watched a couple of Monty's videos re growing spuds and shallots in containers....he had a bin for the spuds but just a metal bucket for the shallots.  Has anyone tried the shallots like this? Was thinking of trying it with shallots and red onions by Brycey D

Raised beds depth
on. We have managed to grow a number of crops with some success including salad veg, beetroot, onions, some varieties of carrot, sweet corn and parsnips. On our recently acquired allotment, just down the road, we are having less sucess by movingpictureTV.com

Eelworm in Onions
I have an allotment in Stoke on Trent, and several of my fellow gardeners and I discovered today that we all have a problem with our onions. After much consultation and reading of favourite allotment books - and several cups of tea! - we have come by Raven48

Rust on veg leaves
have quite a few of our onion stems falling over......does anyone know what this is about? There is no evidence of any bugs etc eating or destroying the onion bulbs. We dug up an onion and it was healthy. Is it the severe rain perhaps or something more by Ady&CaroleAnn
