Best blue flowering plant
I grow lots of blue flowered plants. What's your favourite? How about linum perenne to start? In summer, and grown next to santolina lemon fizz....yellow foliage....and behind a yellow osteospermum it is a real eye catcher all summer long. well by Verdun

Suitable plants for shallow trough
. Osteospermum....like Tresco Purpe or Cannington Roy.....will grow fast, flower all summer and survive light frosts. Minimal maintenance too. For me, get plants now and keep inside for a while or get plants in spring. Take cuttings in August ....which root by jwsiharris

Plants for edging a path
bit of colour. Preferably low growing plants. Small campanulas, hardy geraniums or alchemilla mollis would be lovely. You may want to deadhead alchemilla as she can self seed but she is beautiful. Thymus silver Posie. Lovely taller thyme with pinky by zampano

Talkback: Keeping up with the weather
Thanks for your comments - and interesting too, I think we could do with a top-50 good performers despite the grotty weather list! Yes, I've also found that some of the Argyranthemums do suprisingly well, and Vanilla Osteospermum. Just wish all by Brian Bliss
